They are definitely the best. I just got a batch of Navarran Carlist "requetes" (catholic fanatics) in red "shoot me!"-berets.  :D

...not to mention the Anarchist dynamitards. Had not the SWC been so particularely gruesome I'd said that they are pure Pulp.

Edit: You may also want to try Force of Arms, but go to the Wargames Command Post since the FoA site is crap.

FoA has a more extensive range (Guardia Civil for example) plus more vehicles but are on the other hand not as well sculpted as Anglian.

Thanks H for pointing out FOA. It completely left my mind not to think of them. I do know John Bruce is working on the new site so hopefully it won't be long now.

There is a scenario with some photos of Anglian SCW and many other (inc Heroclix, Pulp & Artizan) figures on my site http://www.morvalearth.co.uk/Monastery_death/Mon_death_intro.htm

Of course SCW is Pulp. The Nazi Gondor Legion included agents there trying to recover ancient artifacts form the vaults of the Spanish Inquisition.
And to experiment their wonky secret inventions, surely.

The Anglian republican/anarcho-militias I have are brilliant!

Great stuff!  I have just finished some Carlists, my friend has the Nationalists, there are plenty of old 'demons' (I have blue horrors as in the report) here in the basement.

Photos of the Carlists are on

Coppelstone's 'Rick' from The Mummy and some of the Artizn flyers are on

I guess I have to get these items on Flickr to post the photo here.
