RCW armoured car colour
« on: February 27, 2011, 09:27:38 AM »
Hi  :)
I will be painting up my Russian armoured car for RCW/polish war
In the Amoured Automobiles of the russian civil war 1918-1920 book
it show models painted up light green, dark green and grey
Plus the new model from CompanyB is painted this way?

do i go for a mix of colours or was there a set colour for them?
Any info would be great
Thanks
David

What is the armored car will be painted?
Armored vehicle "Austin Putilovets" produced only from 1918, the factory, these cars were painted gray. Here are a couple options actually existed:

Armored Car Stenka Razin, 1 st detachment of armored vehicles 55 th Infantry Regiment, Red Army, 1919
After the capture machine, Poles black paint was applied the name "Poznanczyk" and the date of capture of the armored car. In this form the car was involved in battles with the Red Army.

Armored vehicle "Mars ", the 18-th detachment armored cars Red Army, 1919

During the First World War, Russian armored vehicles had no camouflage or standard color. They are stained with any suitable types of paints: "dark greens", "yellow ocher", "grassy greens."
Appliances purchased in England, came to Russia in the standard of English painting.
During the Civil War, this trend has continued.
That's the best of my examples:

Many thanks for the info and photos. As someone starting to build forces in the RCW period I'm finding this forum the answer to lots of questions I have.
