At long last, the Tekumel Project is on the verge of releasing 28mm figures for direct sale via The Tekumel Club.

See the Club thread on our blog, here:

http://thetekumelproject.blogspot.com/search/label/The%20Tekumel%20Club

The Hlutrgu and the first of the Qol are currently in the process of having Production Molds made and we expect to be able to pick up the initial castings at Fall In at the end of this month.

If you have any interest please contact me at:

I'm interested in the snake men, the Qol... I think that they might make interesting opponents for Conan.

But do you have better (larger, more angles) pictures than are in your blog?  I'd like a more complete look at them.

Masters just arrived from the caster today so I might be able to take some pictures though I don't have an especially good camera.

Here is some of what I had posted on Frothers:

"Currently the plans are for:

1) command/character types;
2) a palanquin borne by 8 Qol (with human priest/priestess of Ksarul for a rider); and
3) a selection of Ksarul priests and priestesses (inc. warrior priests.)

The initial release is basically the rank-and-file "grunts". Not sure if the "fluff" calls for any other weapon types, but am open to suggestions..."

"The Qol are man-sized. Our figures are 28mm - I don't know if you've seen any but I think Allan (Marsh) has done a good job on the proportions - that is they are more slender than many ranges, though perhaps not like Tom Meier's stuff.

The Qol and the Hlutrgu are by Rod Campbell - I don't have one of our human figures with me but I'd say they were the same size, with the long neck possibly making some of the figures slightly taller than a human. The robes make them slightly fuller than our humans, but again that is just my impression. I can confirm later.

I do have a tape measure here, however, and can confirm that they are 28-29mm to top of head depending on specific figure.

The Hlutrgu are shorter. The fluff states a range and I picked a value within the range that put them about shoulder height to one of our human figures (which are scaled to the average height stated for Tsolyani.) They stand 24-25mm to top of head.

All measurments are from bottom of feet. Some poses may vary the heights. The figures have small, thin integral bases rather than tabs."

I will be needing some of these I have been piecing together a snakeman army for the past few years.
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it anymore and what is it seems weird and scary.

I understand the difficulty in taking catalog quality pictures of ones own figures.

But if you're willing to try, I'd love to see more pics.  I'm very curious to see more of them.

On the other hand, I could just order one single figure, and see it for myself...

I got my snakemen awhile back, and finally remembered to say something here - they look fantastic!  I'll definitely be ordering more, Conan will have a good time slaughtering them in ancient Hyperborea.

Jeff Dee has posted some of his painted Hlutrgu and Qol on the Tekumel Wargaming Yahoo group:

I really like the job he did with the Qol - I was thinking boring brown robes when I was considering how to paint mine, but his colour choice is better! :-)

Not sure when. Spring or Summer 2011, I would think.

Where: The Tekumel Club, of course! ;-)
