Russian Summer Uniform

Hi all,

Just after a bit of advice. What primary colour would be best for Russian Summer Uniform? I'm doing some for FoW, and I'm worried I lack the right paints. Someone recommended Vallejo Tan Yellow, which corresponds to GW Snakebite Leather, which I have, but I'm not sure about that.

I thought Cobra leather was the equivalent of GW snakebite ? For the rest I'm afraid I can't help you out. Thought the Ruski's wore a green or an ocre-tinted uniform ?

Vallejo Russian Uniform, Green Ochre, Green Brown, Khaki Grey, Khaki, Beige Brown would all be good choices based on looking at original uniforms. I think the Mid and late war uniforms tended to be more towards the greener shades in most cases like Russian Uniform.

15mm russians? i used khemri brown as a base and they turned out like this

Where are you based?
Locally Vallejo pots are 25% cheaper than GW pots.
Not sure, but I think they may be slightly bigger too.

Lincoln, UK. I've seen on a colour chart that US Field Drab is akin to GW's Khemri Brown. Is that correct?
