Russian uniform pictures of troops around the 2nd Afghan War

HI learned colleagues!

I am thinking of adding a 'russian' element to my 2nd Afghan War gaming - a what if scenario.

Can anyone point me in the direction of:
Suitable 28mm Troops ( I am aware of Askari Miniatures)
Suitable colour plates/images

maybe the Redoubt ones from Russians - Japanese War and the Boxer Rebellion ranges..contrary to many of his other ranges their are 28mm minis compatible with other ranges in the market.

The library of Congress has digitized the Turkestan Album, a series of photos commissioned by General Kauffman to document Russian Turkestan: http://www.loc.gov/rr/print/coll/287_turkestan.html The Historical Part has maps and photos of individuals and groups of Russian military

http://www.karakalpak.com/histrussia.html has multiple photos and paintings of Russian troops from the fighting with Khiva. The paintings of Vasiliy Vereshchagin are probably the best for Russian troops in Turkestan.

THe uniform was a white kepi with black peak and white Havlock, white tunic, red pants, black boots. Leather equipment was black. Shoulderboards appear to be blue in Vereshchagin's paintings.

Was thinking the same thing...I'm going with Old Glory for my figures...look under the "Boxer Rebellion" range...and at just about a $1.20 a figure...pretty good deal...
