My very first Britannia minis!
« on: 26 July 2011, 01:35:09 AM »
Painted this weekend…

I kind of like it but there’s something off and I can’t quite put my finger on it.

I’ve mounted the HMG gunner on a piece of gridded plasticard so I could use both the gunner or the Pick-up separately. If I’d thought of it a little more, and had some green stuff on hand, I could have sculpted the base as a kind of rug or canvas... I think it will stay that way for now though…

A CANADIAN local hobby store with a small selection of historical wargames miniatures (mainly from Warlords). They also have a great selection of paint and hobby accessories from Vallejo, Army painter, AK Interactive, Green Stuff World and more.; https://tistaminis.com/

The only thing that may be odd is that the top of the glass colour looks the same as the bodywork colour. Having said that I think these are great :)

Wish I'd thought of doing that with mine. He's ended up permanently glued in place which limits the pick-up to one use.

I think you’re right but how should I correct the problem? Should I add a fine white line on the top part of the windows? Or maybe an other color?

Yes, either add a lighter highlight to the top part or change the blue altogether. Lighter highlight is the easy option I think.

I’ve finally done the white lines on the upper part of the windows to mark the edges between them and the cab. It’s kind of overdone really but it do look good from a distance (on the tabletop).

I’ve also painted a second Britannia vehicle. This time it’s Mad Mike’s Jeep. The client wanted me to paint it in the same irregular look as the “SAS & LRDG of WWII”

Suggestions and comments are welcome.

Cheers! 8)
