Dipped Cryx Bonejack
« on: September 20, 2011, 11:41:56 PM »
My friend AndyM told me about this forum ages ago so it's time I posted something.

I am terrible at getting miniatures finished as I always want to do the best job I possibly can. Recently I managed to shift my perception and now I would rather have adequate paint jobs on my figures instead of having tons of unpainted minis.
So I decided to get dipping. And here is 1 of the first figures that I dipped, A deathripper from my Cryx warmachine force.

Very effective.  I'm not fond of the dipping process, but I believe you have achieved a better than tabletop standard.  Nice work.
This is my boomstick!

Cool!

It doesn't look like a dipped model. The ones I'm used to seeing have over the top black shadows.

BTW welcome aboard!

Yes welcome, have to say doesn't look dipped, but well painted, which I say is a good thing too.

I have read some good things about dipping, and it is a great process for painting many miniatures very fast. Your DeathRipper looks great. I would have liked to see a "before" dipped figure, just to see exactly what the dipping does, but from what I can see the bone and the brass colours look nice. Great for table-top quality. Job well done.

Thanks for all the great comments guys.

@G2 I plan on doing at least a 35pt cryx list with dipping. Some of them have been dipped and are waiting to get matt varnished. But I have a pistol wraith and a Helljack almost finished with the base coats so I will do a stage by stage with them for you.
