Anti-aircraft guns

Can anyone help with identifying a manufacturer of 25/28mm WW1 anti-aircraft guns?

Rather depends what you want. There exists an old Dinky, prewar 3" AA gun that is a reasonable fit for 28mm. Surprisingly they aren't necessarily that expensive if you are prepared to search long enough.

If you fancy making your own, the the Minifigs 4.7" gun makes an ideal barrel. The  mororised 18/13 pdr  (rebored 18pdr)and straight 13pdrs were extensively used by Britain during the war, probably the most widely used AA guns of the war. Sources for the gun(s) itself are quite plentiful, Great War, Foundry, Woodbine, OG etc. Sloppy Jalopy make a Thorneycroft J that is ideal as the mount. you'll find useable plans and photos here:

If you want something lighter, you could always pair the Eureka Hotchkiss gun, complete with shield with a Fiat ter, i know someone makes one, maybe SJ. These saw service around London during thw war, I think one or two even made it to Belgium.

Th easiest thing to do for Germans, French and Russians is to get the appropriate model field gun and make a lashup like the ones used during the war, jerry built turntable upon which the gun, field carriage, wheels and all was mounted.

Pulp figures do a deck-mounted Lewis that could easily be reconfigured to look like this...

Trouble is finding a figure in a suitable pose to man it.

But I'm thinking you probably had something bigger in mind. If so then please ignore.  :)

Thanks for the comments so far. I'm looking for a generic heavy AA gun rather than a MG. Must investigate the Scheltrum offering.

Reviresco makes a 13 pdr. Mk 3 AA gun on a Thornycroft type J lorry in 1:72 scale:

http://www.tin-soldier.com/thorny2.htm

That may be a little small for those who prefer their 28mm stuff to be in 1:56 or 1:64 scales, but it would do OK if you can put up with something closer to true 25mm.

Reviresco has a lot of other guns that could be adapted for use as AA guns. Look at the naval guns as well as the WW1 army guns.
Sailors have more fun!

Here is my own Japanese field improvised version. A wagon wheels axial with Maxim mounted from the spares box. Pulp do a fair selection of MG’s on simple AA mounts. In this case the crew have been distracted from their duty by chow. "It's de plane boss !"

This modification wasn't TOO hard - even with my very basic modelling skills.  The gunner came in two pieces, legs separate from upper body, and upper was already holding the gun.  I chopped the legs off of a standing figure, then glued them together.  I needed a bit of filler to change him from leaning forward to leaning back, but all in all I'm content with how he turned out.
