« on: August 01, 2022, 11:33:15 PM »
Looking at getting back to Crush The Kaiser, I need some anti aircraft capability. Any of you jolly nice folks know of any?

Thanks.

Cheers, not sure one would find them on the Western Front. I have found that Irregular Miniatures do a fairly generic AAG truck.

Machine guns on variously improvised AA mountings were very common. One such Vickers or Lewis MG shot down the Red Baron. https://www.library.act.gov.au/find/history/stories_from_the_act_memorial/who_shot_the_red_baron

This is a 37mm Maxim Flak M14, derived from the Maxim Nordenfelt gun.

One enterprising fellow was selling them as Lego kits !

And here it is on a field gun carriage.

As for appropriate miniatures, is your reference to 20mm a reference to the scale you are gaming with (1:72nd) or the type of AA gun you are looking for?  If 1:72nd, your best bet might be some of the Shapeways 3d printing merchants:

Was the 37mm weapon also known as a "Pom-Pom"?  The terms is more widely associated with WW2, but was actually known during the 2nd Boer War.

They also have their useful gun range... see for example Gun Type Three D "Luftkannone" The German WW1 AA Gun.

And the EWM one for the French.
