Round 8 - Victorian Detective Agency vs. Path of Lanterns

I am writing that down before voting. 1 of 5 pairs I put behind for more consideration!

The brown and blue tones of that detectives is just awesome, but then again ... this Japanese theme?

the detectives made it ... though it is in comparison a very puristic photo (just the minis) it maybe is the reason why I liked it so. The bright colours (a "not so dull"-brown and a "very cool violettish"-blue/grey) from bugsda had their noses ahead for me!

Great painting Bugsda. Is that two different Sherlock and Watson pairs, both Foundry? I only have one of those sets...

Yep! Both pairs with a Moriarty thrown in for good measure

Love them Chris. I like the Doc's entry a great deal too. Really thought this one would be a bit closer. Two great entries, different styles, but I found it very hard to choose.

Bugsda your entry would normally thrash most of the other entries in this round
the vote doesn't reflect how good they are

Thanks! The stalks are made with a combination of floral wire, electrician's heat shrink  tubing, and some plastic plant that is turned upside down. The joints between segments are just painted on.

I'll have to do a tutorial as it is kind of difficult to describe and I think you need a specific plant type. I may have a frond or two left over. I could always use more bamboo...

A tutorial on the bamboo would be great, thanks in advance!

Very cool detectives Bugsda, your painting is clean as always but I was particularly impressed by Dr. Mathias' patterning on the clothing, those flowers look just right!
