Thanks! The stalks are made with a combination of floral wire, electrician's heat shrink  tubing, and some plastic plant that is turned upside down. The joints between segments are just painted on.

I'll have to do a tutorial as it is kind of difficult to describe and I think you need a specific plant type. I may have a frond or two left over. I could always use more bamboo...

Also, are they Perry figures?

The figures are from Kingsford, from the Ikko-Ikki and Sohei packs. Overall really nice figures. They're a bit larger than Perry and the hands on some are awkward. The detail and clarity of the lacing, and well sculpted, characterful faces are what I really like about them.

They're labeled as 25mm round. They're actually solid plastic bases from Wargames Factory. I used them because the Kingsfords have integral bases and putting them on a slotta would raise them a little too high, a metal washer like I use on most of my historicals is too thin. My oriental fantasy stuff is on slottas, so I went with a compromise. I think they blend in with other base types I use pretty well. I wish I had used the WF bases on a lot of my older stuff too- the thickness is just right IMO.
