Need help with Necromunda Scavvy
« on: 10 May 2012, 03:35:41 PM »
I need more guys with Autoguns and am hoping to find them out side of the GW realm.
Anybody have any good suggestion for models that will fit with the other older Scavvy?
I can and will convert, no problem.
Thanks

You can also use 1/35th scale assault rifles, the overall size is very similar to the GW weapons, but they aren't as bulky, which certainly says something for the size of GW guns.... I have a pack somewhere that had AK74's in it, I gave them straight clips instead of the curved one and they fit in fine. Also, 50cal's etc make great heavy stubbers. Or MG42's etc if you're after the better made ones such as Van Saar or Escher.

Alternatively, The Assault Group has a very good range of modern weapons that are in the right size and bulk, many of which would make great auto-guns.
So many projects..... so little time.......

You could try Mega Miniatures, some of the 'Tribal Elves' are good ratskin type proxies and I think they'd convert to scavvies pretty easily. Might have to add a clip to the lasguns though.

I saw some really nice drum-fed autoguns on TGN several weeks ago, I fully intended on getting them but for the life of me I can't find them now. It was one of those Maxmini/Kromlech/Puppet'sWar/Scibor type companies :)

Edit:
It was Anvil Industries:

The guns are cool, and i will probably order some, but i need the gangers to go with them.mega minis has some cool stuff but nothing apoc, cursed earth type guys. The EM4 stuff is nice, but style is off a bit. I like them better but they do not have enough diseases. ;)

If you're looking for diseased mutie types, Mongoose has some in the Judge Dredd range. No autogun looking weapons though, so I didn't mention them.

I know you said you wanted to avoid GW, but  you didn't say why. If you're looking for variety you can use scavvy bodies and add LAM post-apoc heads (that's what I'm doing) or even use Tallarns and scum them up a bit. Probably not what you want exactly, I just thought I'd let you know what I did to increase my scavvy horde while avoiding duplicates.

You're not likely to find figures that perfectly match the Scavvies as GW would undoubtedly sue the company who produced them.

My suggestion would be Pig Iron Kolony Ferals with some of MaxMini's Evil Heads or similar zombie/ghoul heads.
