Italeri Spanish Church
« on: 06 May 2012, 08:06:33 PM »
Good evening all,

I was just wondering if anyone had experience of the Italeri buildings? Specifically how the 1/72 stuff scales up to 28mm. I've read a few threads, some here, that suggest they'd be suitable (albeit with a wee bit of work on the doors). Does anyone have example pictures with 28mm miniatures?

Cheers
Andy

A friend has the church, and we've used it in a 20mm WW2 scenario once, but I don't think I've got pics of it.
I guess you could use it as a chapel for 28mm, although the tower would be rather narrow and the side door too small.

I plan to use one as a small church but will have to apply bigger doors.

Arteis (on this group) has done some work on it for Naps, try searching for Kapiti Fusiliers and an old post on that site.

Not the church, but Italeri 1/72 country houses with 28mm figs for comparison.

Roly fixed the "door looks too small for 28mm figs" by cutting the door out, cutting the opening bigger (higher), then reattaching the door with a step.

I have one. It's a beautiful piece of work and for my money it works well with 28mm. The main door is quite large so suits 28mm as well as 20mm. Th side doors are somewhat smaller but they are not so small to worry me. You can get at least one 28mm washer based figure in the bell tower.

It is a very large kit btw, it takes up far more space than I can really afford. To give you an idea the the bell tower comes up to about knee height and the footprint with base is about the size of my laptop. Italeri also produce a town house that is actually just the two side wings of the church fitted together.

I replaced the roof with pantiling as I didn't really like the roof  texture of the original. I'd share a photo or two but mine is on the otherside of the world to me right now.

I'd strongly recommend it. It's simple to construct and leaving my reservations about the roof aside, a wonderfully detailed model.

Fantastic, thank you. This is exactly what I was looking for. I looks as though with the modified doors this church is excellent. I really like how yours looks.

Cheers again

Now here is a strange question. Can anyone provide me with the dimensions of the churchs base? A strange one I know!

Cheers
