Infernal Engines of the Chaos Dwarves!
« on: 17 May 2012, 02:33:10 PM »
I painted up a little gang of Chaos Dwarves for the LPL a few years ago, and threw in a WH40K Ork Runtbot to make up the numbers. Since then I've had a bit of an obsession with the idea of Chaos Dwarves bringing clanky, evil looking war gadgets into battle.

Here's a toy robot I pressed into Chaos Dwarf service- the paintjob was a pretty haphazard speedpaint job, and to be honest I mainly painted this guy to break a painter's block I'd had for weeks. I've put some of his mates from the LPL days with him to show the army colour scheme I'll be going for. I'm also very much aware that his right hand is in an unfortunate position.  :?

The light's really bad right now, so the pictures aren't the greatest.

I've also kitbashed together a little siege machine- a hand cranked circular saw-type affair; the primer's drying on it right now. Eventually I hope to put together a few more war engines for the little guys.

Thanks guys! I've got another toy robot from the same brand lying around but I'm not sure I want to make use of it; it's on trike wheels and while the caterpiller tracks of the one above look at least fantasy-ish the trike wheels might be a bit too sci-fi.

As promised, here's the little siege machine. I kitbashed it from the components of a wind-up toy motor and some shields. I'm going to try and source or convert an unarmed operator to crew it, because all the chaos dwarf miniatures I have are too animated to be believable as crewmen.
