(Kickstarter) Female Chaos Dwarves
« on: July 19, 2016, 12:55:07 PM »
I have taken the first steps into KS territory with this very small project.

The figures were sculpted by John Pickford and have been sitting in a box waiting on release for a few Years now.

 Bella Donna Spider form.

 The Weeping Queen.

More pictures on the KS page.

Please let me know what you think and help spread the word if possible.

 Cheers

 Andy C.

She is LOVELY AND HIGHLY IMAGINATIVE. VERY WELL DONE! I wish you the BEST OF LUCK with the Kickstarter!

Addendum: I posted a little notice in the Kickstarter section of the Reaper Forum. You never know where the support will come from:

I'll be honest, I came in thinking "Oh, not another 'female X' Kickstarter" but you've got something really good here.

As a note: What sets it apart is the fact that the gender is included into the design. The Venetian ball gown is used to create something a little unsettling and "chaotic". Compared to the seemingly standard "this is a knight but it is a woman quelle surprise" it's very nice.

Secondary note: I understand people like those but for me personally they've very blasé and kinda forced.

TL;DR: Flavour and characterisation is everything.

Sigh.

That Chaos Dwarf project of mine... running for decades and never seems to get anywhere. Then sculpts like this turn up and induce just enough life back into it to keep things going.

Well done.

I pledged.

Nice one Andy, Kickstarter is ideal for this sort of project.

Why no pledge for single figures?  I am not after Chaos Dwarves as such but could find a home for Bella in my Carnevale Cirque gang.

On retail release after the KS?

Those look great, Andy!  Very characterful.  Considering backing, but shipping makes it a bit high for just two figures so far.  If you add some Kev Adams stuff as 'stretch goals' it could make it worthwhile for me.  ;)

Glad to see you are almost at your funding goal though!

I have added a picture of the other masks and the shield which John did for these miniatures.

I did think about doing single miniatures but thought that people might like the two for there collections.

Adding other sculpts is an option i am looking into. Some have said it will be a good idea to help get more funds others think it best to do them in the next KS project and keep things simple.

There are a few Kev Adams pieces waiting Tim ;).Have some away at the moment to be painted up.

Also quite a few pieces by Paul Muller and others waiting ;).

If i decide to add other pieces to the project the postage will stay the same no matter what gets added. That way people dont get extra hidden costs being added to the end total.

Well, you have the benefit of having the finished sculpts in hand, so in theory it should be easy enough to get them moulded.  You should be able to fit a few more castings on your master mould, you would just need more production mould.  The timeline may change with adding more models though, so either get a feel for what the other backers think about having to wait longer for production with an increased scope, or perhaps run a second project for the new models, but add the current models as 'add-ons' in the second project.  Might be a bit tidier to do it that way so you can reliably deliver on your timeline.  ;)

I have added a stretch goal for passing the target.

It is two new Female Barbarians which were sculpted by Andrew Rae with new weapon sets done by Paul Muller.

The project has been funded and the two Female Barbarians are now available to add to pledges.

Thanks for helping to get these pieces into production.
