GW chimaera question
« on: 27 November 2012, 01:37:57 PM »
I saw some on were on the inter-web a conversion kit to turn bog stranded WH40K imperial guard chimaera's into a wheeled vehicle, and i was wondering if any one can point me to the site.
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

You could even go at it yourself; I did... ;)

I used plasticard, Tichy Train Group plastic rivets, a whole stack wheels from (very) cheap toy trucks, a Forgeworld Chimera Autocannon turret (which I converted into a Heavy Bolter one), a Dreadnought searchlight, old Rhino hatch parts and some vehicle stowage parts from the bitsbox. Oh; and some Forgeworld etched brass Imperial Eagles (R) . There is a Heavy Flamer lying behind the turret; it's got a magnet and can replace the (also magnetized) Heavy Bolter in place on the front.

This was for my stalled IMperial Guard project, using the first (RT era) IG plastic troopers, combined with 'new' lasguns and equipment. It was all pretty cool and promissing, but somehow, this Chimera and two squads of troopers was as far as I got. Typical...  ::)

Finished, prior to painting:

And mid painting; the camo is finished, and the rivets have been shaded, but here, it still needs highlighting and all the details still need finishing:

I did get a bit further with the painting than this, but sadly, I have no pics of that (yet).
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...
