A bargain find at ModelZone
« on: 05 May 2013, 11:22:03 AM »
So, yesterday while out and about I wandered into ModelZone in Cambridge. There was a sale on (has anyone ever been in ModelZone when there wasn't a sale on, I begin to wonder -- it's been going on since at least January) and I found that one of the "Conflix" line of scenery was marked down from whatever its original price was to £5.99, and then from there to £4.99. When I got to the counter I found it was actually £3.50, which is not bad!

Anyway, it was the "Sorcerer's House," which you can see here: http://www.anticsonline.co.uk/l.aspx?k=106685590.

I didn't much like the colour, which didn't seem realistic to me, and the undersides and tops of the beams were often unpainted, so I gave it a bit of a touch up, and here are the results:

Again, it's not amazing, but for £3.50 and like 20 minutes of painting time I am reasonably pleased with it!
