I wasn't having a good hobby-day last night and ended up totally ruining a batch of figures (nothing to do with any of Army Painter's products...just me being stupid). However, I did try out the brush-on anti-shine. I didn't even think to take before and after photos, so I do apologize.
However...I can vouch for the anti-shine. It works VERY well. The quickshade varnish dries with a very high gloss finish, and I thought there was no way that a brush on matte varnish could cover it, but it does. I'd recommend being careful to remove any bubbles and paint it on as smoothly as you can. When I checked them again in the morning there was almost no shine left, other than a few spots I missed. A quick two-second touch up on those spots and I'm sure everything will look perfect.
