Baltic Wars in 15mm
« on: 14 March 2013, 08:30:07 PM »
Hi guys

I'm new posting here having been a long time lurker - frankly awed by a lot of the pics on here.

Anyway back to subject - I'm looking into gaming the RCW/inter war fights between reds, nationalists, germans and whites in the Baltic.

I've searched these forums and found a lot of info on Freikorps etc and I've checked out the excellent Pygmy Wars site too.

I want to use Peter Pig 15mm figures as far as possible but I need help on what figures are suitable for use as the Lithuanian, Latvian and Estonian nationalists - can anyone help me please?

Cheers

Jules

Can't help much - I've been looking to do the same, so far only have Freikorps and Spartakists (lots of Peter Pig options amongst WWI ranges, but also WWII Russian sailors and some German Volksturm, and a few SCW figures).

Currently trying to convert Zvezda Russian trucks for improvised armour, or just as trucks. They are reasonably cheap and easy to work with.

Can't help much either, but I wanted to welcome you from out of the shadows!  :D

I'm no genius with a brush either and I know what you mean, but there are other ways to contribute to the forum... just posting is enough.

Fortunately as an international forum, we've got a wide knowledge base and I doubt you'll have to wait too long for an answer to your query.

:)

Hi Julesav

There are some good pictures of the Estonian War of Independence on this website:

http://www.esm.ee/11477/

Their appearance changed a bit over the course of the war as more British gear came in and obviously there was a change when they went from winter to summer.

I've got a book on it from when I went to Estonia last year. I'll have a nose at it over the weekend and put a bit more uniform info up. If I forget, remind me with a PM  :)
