After a long and unsuccessful search for a set of rules we liked for our AVBCW games, i tried something a little bit unexpected...Dux Bellorum!

So far they're working better than anything else we've tried...

It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion.  It is by the juice of Typhoo the thoughts acquire speed, the teeth acquire stains, the stains serve as a warning.  It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion.

I,ve just had a squint at your site and found it very interesting, plenty of food for thought. Thanks for posting your rule amendments and tables I can see the amount of work you have put into them. I have the original rules and will be trying these out. Thanks again for posting.

Well that's a leap of faith but if they work, why not.  I shall be giving them a go.

While I'm quite impressed, I'm not actually that surprised... any set of rules is just a collection of similar mechanisms, change the nouns used and you could conceivably use almost any rule set for any period.

Some obviously work better than others though, so well done that man!

:)
