Home Bargains £5 train set
« on: 11 October 2013, 03:46:16 PM »
Hi folks,

I'm not a train fan at all however my son mentioned that some track and a train or two might make a great objective to fight over or around. As a result I was keeping an eye out for cheap trains and found a circular set at Home Bargains for £5. Three different versions. One train and two carriages and a bunch of track in each set.

I don't have any pictures with me but I've stuck it onto some board and it looks fine painted up. Looks a little taller than 00 scale although I might be wrong as I really don't do the train thing. All plastic track but easy enough to cut and seems to hold paint quite well.

Anyway I thought i'd flag it up in case it was of interest to anyone.

I can get some picture up if anyone would find that helpful.

Cheers

Archie

Sorry away on business with dodgy internet access. Also I actually dont know how to upload pics here. Do I have to host them somewhere else first?

(I will check the help section after posting this and try to work it out)

Ok ... might have sussed this ...

The figures are Foundry 28mm 2000AD minis.

As you can see on a standard slotta they fit into the open truck nicely.

The engine is about eight inches long. Carriages shorter.

I have glued some of the track to board ... each board is two feet long. Thr board on the right I have started to paint up ... and this is the first for me showing off my handiwork  lol

Thanks Archie,
Canny handy work mind  ;)
Think the Engine might be too modern looking for my Spanish Civil War project (and Thargor's Wild West theme) but thanks for sharing that.

Yes bit too modern for that. Mine is more future city / Blakes 7 styled stuff so it fits in nicely.
