Faraday armouring question.
« on: 12 September 2013, 07:02:03 PM »
Alright, so I'm trying to equip a figure with Faraday Coat and a Faraday Shield.
The book's telling me to calculate the costs of this according to the total Armour Rating table thing, which tells me to first calculate the cost for the normal armour (9) and then add half the cost of the Arc armour (14 or 17).

This gives me a result of either 19 or 41 ( :o ) points so which one should I use or am I just calculating things wrong once again?

I make it 20 or 42.... I'd be inclined to go with the 42 as with the two combined you are nigh on unhittable with arc weapons, excessively so to be honest.
So many projects..... so little time.......

2 points (for normal armour rating of 9) plus 36 points (for arc armour rating of 14 if the figure has moved or does not have a hand free) equals 38 divided by two equals 19 points.

OR

2 points (for normal armour rating of 9) plus 81 points (for arc armour rating of 17 if figure hasn't moved and has one hand free for the earthing spike) equals 83 points divided by two equals 41 points(remember, we round down).

The problem is: how do we rate a Faraday shield that works one way when the figure moves and another when it is stationary (and has that one hand free)?

Sounds like a candidate for Craig's IHMN FAQs.

House rule(?): take the 19 and 41 points, divide by two. Final cost: 30 points.

I'm just sayin'.
