Bohemian Crusaders
« on: 01 October 2013, 05:15:41 AM »
Been a while since I posted any images,

One of the Bengalis has built up a Hussite army, but has no opponents. So for Xmas I gave him part of an Imperial/Bohemian/Crusader army.

Two stands of Feudal knights.  I think that they're Foundry 14th century English/French standing in for early 15th century Bohemians.
The shields are old ancient Egyptian ones that I had lying around, trimmed down to a more believable size.
I cut off the lances, then drilled out the hilts to insert some of the "Ex-Girlfriend, Plastic Broom Bristle, Lances."  They actually take paint.  I was concerned that acrylics would flake off.  And this way when you bump the lances with your hand you don't get stabbed, and the lances don't pop off.

Same 4 knights in front of some underlings.

Overhead view, with mounted crossbows, and halberdiers, and a few bombards on the end.

Very nice, their livery complements the drabness of the others very well. What ruleset are these for?

Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy?

That all looks real nice, can't escape that reality.

They're based for the (largely defunct ?) DBM rules.

However, with a 'sort of standard' 60mm frontage one supposes that they could be used for any rules set?

But my chum built/based his Hussite army for DBM, so it was 60mm frontages for me.

Hey, great idea for the plastic broom bristle lances.  I've never heard of that but will try it at the earliest opportunity.  Great paint on those knights, the shield heraldry is very tidy, is it freehand?
This is my boomstick!

All Free Hand Shields,

If you're interested in the "Ex-Girlfriend Plastic Spears" then go here,

http://thebengalclubla.com/tbc_gallerydatabase.asp

And search for "Plastic Broom"

It should bring up photos of figures with the plastic spears.
