Pumpkin stems make great stumps...

I finally got around to turning last year's pumpking stems into stumps. Worked out really well.

do you make sure they are make sure they are fully dried out ? I would also recommend a zap in microwave...otherwise they might rot

What a simple, effective and Might I add, brilliant idea. You don't even have to paint them!! Thanks for sharing.

I left them on the radiator for a couple of weeks, which seem to dry them out pretty thoroughly. I then left them for over a year, before I did anything with them. They seem pretty solid.

I did actually paint, though just a couple layers of brown did the trick.
