Triarius or Rorarius Character
« on: 13 May 2014, 09:43:00 PM »
Hi All,
Thought you might like a sneak peak at our latest 'green', sculpted by Matt Bickley. He's a casual Triarius or Rorarius, designed to stand nonchalantly behind his kneeling brethren, confident the battle won't 'come down to the Triarii'!! He could also equally be used as an earlier Princeps, still armed with Hasta rather than pilum, or indeed a Centurion - primus hasta  ???.

Hope you like him - he's one of a set of 4 Trairii / Principes characters we'll be releasing to support our plastic Legionaries. More pics to follow shortly.....
Cheers
Greg

Love this figure.  He will compliment the kneeling Triarii perfectly.

Which plastics does he go with?
Gary, Glynis, and Alasdair (there are three of us, but we are too mean to have more than one login)

A great looking figure and to be honest I think a more likely pose than kneeling.

Why do triari kneel ..?
Unless it was to present a smaller target to arrows it must have been damned un-comfy!. I know my knees wouldn't have taken it for long. Sitting would be sensible, if somewhat un-military!

Nice sculpt, but it would be helpful if you identified who "we" are in the O.P., Monophthalmus.  Agema?  Victrix?  Someone else?
Back from the dead, almost.

Excellent work  :o

As for the range it goes with I'd say Agema:

Amazing character, Greg. Great to hear some characters are going to fill up the ranks of the plastic guys, a very good and customer friendly idea.

Lovely piece. I have been wondering what Mr Bickley has been doing recently. Seems to have gone very quiet?

Thanks for all the kind words guys - and apologies I hadn't realised it wasn't clear who 'we' are! I think Matt's don't a fab job on this chap, and the other 3 figures that go with him. I'll post some pics of these soon!

Here's a link to our website for anyone who wants to know more about us, the range or anything Agema related.
Cheers

Just ace!  (And a gereat idea about using for unreformed Principes - maybe I do have to buy more Romans after all... :)  )
