Wow,

For some reason I am seeing green in your pictures, which is sort of weird if you didn't use it.  Very cool.  I will have to try your method out.

thanks guys, the robots were all painted with valegio gunmetal blue, then i added chainmail to the mix drybrushing. once the gold was applied to them and dry for a few days, i just used the GW was 'badab black' straight from the pot!!

Ha! I've got some of that gunmetal blue, but have never worked out a good use for it until now  :D

Now all I need are some robots......

the iron giant figures are available on ebay, i got mine from a guy in the states and he was really quick to post
