Ah, the PDF has photos of the tanks.

Thanks for sharing (I heard this was coming). I think what will get me back into FoW again. I have some pretty good sculpts from Irregular Miniatures (so better than average for most other manufacturers) Mk IVs and AV7s (three of each).

I am clearing the table of these Wargames Factory Numidians I'm gluing together to get those tanks out to clean and base them instead.

I think Peter Pig has missed the boat here. He has been asked often enough to produce late WWI figures and now FoW has stolen a march.

Fudge - another scale to tempt me.

I question the addition of rifle grenade teams to late war German TO&E.  By 1916 - 1917 the Germans had phased out rifle grenades (which they previously had been employing primarily in defense, unlike British and French practice which certainly did include such teams) in favor of the Granatenwerfer (not included in this 77 R. Div. battlegroup), which by today's standards would be considered more on the order of a light mortar.  Also, by this period there should be at least one (and later two) "light" machine gun teams (the MG08-15, a weapon far more likely to be encountered than the German smg) per German rifle platoon (which they have included in the Stoss platoon  - I question that all of them are pistol equipped only, as most would be carrying carbines in addition to satchels of grenades.  Pistols is how you equipped for a small level night raid, not a breakthrough).   The British formation looked more accurate.

PP has late war British & Germans. Also Russian Civil war figures.
French, Austrian and Belgian are all early war. Oddly enough the latest figures are actually early war Germans.
There are also some RJW Japanese.

Possibly for people gaming 1914 this year? Maybe Martin will sculpt more with the anniversaries coming up?

Fastolfrus

You are quite right.  I was not very clear in my post.

I meant to say that Peter Pig has been asked to produce late war French and Americans.  He does of course produce late war British and Germans which are excellent figures.

I was not aware of the fact that they produce RJW Japanese????

Regards and apologies for the confusion.

I've decided to take the plunge in to 15mm WWI but going for 1914 Peter pig figures and 'Over by Christmas' from Crush the Kaiser. When I say taken the plunge I bought the rules on Sunday.

They are not advertised, but I got some Japanese infantry last year.
No artillery to support them, but we can hope for more to come.

Might be worth an email to ask if there are more WWI planned - I hope so I mainly field Freikorps vs Spartakists and there are a limited number of options (although not bad when mixing in some SCW militia, RCW sailors etc)

Thanks Fastolfrus  I was not aware of the Japanese.  Old Glory do the entire range in 15mm and I am often tempted.

I have been e-mailing Peter Pig for years about their WWI range and, although I do have to admit that they did produce 1914 Zouaves and 1914 dismounted French Dragoons at my request, their emphases lie elsewhere.  I see they are re-modelling some of their 1914 Germans and I am still hoping the 2014 anniversary will prompt them to release more in this range.
