« on: 01 June 2014, 01:32:07 PM »
Painting a small number of Conquistadores & Aztecs, but I'm a bit stymied on how to paint the officer:

Any help appreciated.

i dont understand your problem :

padded armour under shirt ( brighter color than your troops )
big necklace, gold and precious stones,
just give a look at the eureka conquistadores gallery  ;)
Dans les situations critiques, quand on parle avec un calibre bien en pogne, personne ne conteste plus. Y'a des statistiques là-dessus.

It's the chuffing great sun emblem in the middle of the chest that's throwing me. Will have a look at the Eureka gallery cheers.

EDIT: That figure's not in the gallery, kitten  ;)

I think that the "sun emblem" is supposed to be an item of Aztec loot that the conquistador officer has appropriated (or was given as a gift, in the hope that the Spaniards wouldn't continue on their march.  I have almost all the Eureka Portuguese conquistadors and many of the Spaniards, but never purchased that one (frankly because I didn't like the look of him.  I use the Portuguese officer instead).

Very Run DMC! Cheers, I thought it must have been part of a very elaborate breastplate.

I've been painting Conquistadores myself:

http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=65713.0

Haven't gotten to officers yet but my plan was something like:  white shirt, orange sunburst for the middle of the medallion and yellow/gold for the outer flames.  I think that he white and orange/yellow will be a great contrast.

Post a pic when you are done!!
