The Winged Nightmare...
« on: October 01, 2014, 04:54:09 PM »
It rises from the lead mountain like a... like a... hungry and rather upset wingy-thing.

It feels real good when I finish one of those minis I love too much to dare to paint. I may not have done it justice, but it's done and it's mine.  ;)

This beauteous hunk of resin sat on the shelf, daring me to do something with it for far too long.

Couldn't figure out how I wanted to do the wings. That was my excuse for not simply getting on with this mini...

Now it can finally do its thing in the great game.

Television is rather a frightening business. But I get all the relaxation I want from my collection of model soldiers. P. Cushing

Nice!  Love the eyes - most suitably maddening and googly.  And I know exactly how you feel about this one.  It's surprisingly daunting to start painting, but really not that bad once you actually put brush to model.

Thanks fellas, appreciate the encouragement!

Ain't it just?  lol

Exactly this. It pretty much takes on a life of its own once the first wash goes on...

By the way, will this figure make its way back into production with Second Edition?

He's scheduled to make a reappearance.  Just can't say for sure if the Kickstarter will reach that point, or it'll end up as a post-campaign release.

Nice job Mr.Peabody! Hopefully we will get to the Daemon box, I love this model and as Lidless says it really is a snap to paint once you start.

The three wing format is much more disconcerting than the four, isn't it?

Are the wings grey or silver?

Indeed. Odd numbers and all that. :)

Grey. I added some interference medium to the grey paint to give them a hint of 'bug-wing' je ne sais quoi, then a slap of gloss over that.

Ta.  :)

Glad to see the Daemons box, which includes this model, was unlocked during the Strange Aeons 2nd edition Kickstarter.
