Need some Multicam help
« on: 27 December 2014, 05:33:26 PM »
So I started with this guy and as I look back on him I know he sucks and it's even close to looking like multicam does.

I've ready a few things on here but I'm getting confused.  know everyone has their own way of painting but this is my first figure in about 13 yrs. My previous 28mm guys were all WW2 and a lot easier.

Also how and when do I wash with black paint? I never did this to the WW2 guys since I never learned.

Thanks in advance Earle

Vallejo 70987 Medium Grey (with Buff Highlights)
Vallejo 70921 English Uniform
Foundry Phlegm Green 28c (Light)

Camo detail colours are:

Vallejo 70922 Uniform Green
Foundry Boneyard Light 9C
Vallejo 70872 Chocolate Brown

The whole thing was then dulled down with a glaze of Vallejo Buff/Medium grey mix.

Got this scheme from a thread ages ago and it works a treat.

I modified it to be,
Base coat for uniform, val 987 med grey
highlight by adding val 976 buff
Stripes.
20/25% coverage val english uniform
20/25% coverage val golden olive
Patches
10% coverage val usa uniform
stripes
val german camo black brown
val ivory (dots and stripes)

Glaze med grey + buff.

Works for me.

Heres how I painted mine:http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=60378.msg722752#msg722752

I hope you can use that for inspiration. I found that while painting the camo will look totally wrong, it is only when I came to the last few steps in the process that it started to look right.

Gentlemen thanks for the new ideas. I'll have to give them a whirl.
