28mm Zulu War
« on: 29 January 2015, 05:32:47 PM »
I have a problem. I have some 28mm zulus painted and some 20mm zulus painted about 20 of each. I would like to game skirmish and re enact larger battles but my table space is 4x6, foot. I really prefer 28mm models to  the 20mm ones Here is my dilema, is it realistic to play 28mm zulu war on such a table space? If so what rules do you recommend for the larger battles? Who elce does Zulu war in 28mm on 4X6 and how do you go about scaling the battles?

Get a copy of The Sword and the Flame rules from here
http://www.sergeants3.com/first.html
Get a copy of Skirmish Wargames Scenario book on the Zulu Wars from here
http://www.skirmishcampaigns.com/colc/index.htm
All the scenarios in this book are for 28mm figures on a 6x4 table

You could do the death of the Prince Imperial on a 1 to 1 skirmish.  Or, the capture of Cetswayo, again on a 1 to 1.  One of the causes of the AZW was a small band of Zulus crossing into Natal to capture/kill the unfaithful wife of Sihayo.  Lots of small scenarios possible and would fit a 6x4 table nicely.
