Monks to take on Bolsheviks
« on: 14 January 2015, 12:01:16 PM »
So I was inspired by the Dalai Soapey's monks in the latest Extraordinary Kriegspielers game Referendum as seen as here http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=71714.60  After seeing these monks I knew that they were needed in my Back of Beyond as well. Dixon Miniatures came through and got them to Guam in 7 days after I ordered, which must have required enlightened means as packages from Europe usually take three weeks  :o  These are fun minis that practically paint themselves.  I am pretty pleased with my paintjob on these, all of which is totally thanks to the great painters on LAF that inspire and teach me.

Lovely paint job, I only would wish they had more various poses. Btw, did you think of painting the robes in different colors? would give them a bit more variety. Anyway, well done!

The Dalai’s influence spreads to the warm pacific  :)

While he himself faces the cold winds and snow of his mountain kingdom in winter  lol

Great to see you bring these fellows to life  :-*

Very nice.

Funny enough i was only thinking this morning about adding Monks to my BoB project and idly wondering when North Star will get that part of the Pulp range.

Those Dixon figures look decent enough though. And the Pulp range doesn't have them carrying firearms. Hmmmm

Orange is the only colour. .. ;)

Cracking paint job Lon, well done mate!

Yakair, the state zeppelin line, is renowned for its safe and speedy deliveries.  Be they lead figures to Guam, or a 600b payload on Bolshevik positions.

Pretty much my thought process exactly.  Nice paint job BTW!

These are fun minis that practically paint themselves.

They do don't they, whatever's said about Dixon's you can't fault the smooth casting and uncluttered simplicity.

Good work Lon.  8)

Thanks for all of the kind words folks. Here is a group of supporting spearmen.

As the Prof has noted they are all of the same pose but I love their pugnacious character.  It would be nice if there was one or more different versions.
