perry samurai in everyday clothing. help

I have finally got round to getting these samurai, what colours should I paint the clothing? And has anyone got any pics to share to give me some ideas. I'm a bit stumped at the moment. Need inspiration

Drab greys blues and browns with odd tan thrown in for the most part. The woman's kimonos might be a little brighter but not overly so. Put a simple pattern in or two as well (dots work the best).

Thanks James, the weird thing is I am okay with armoured samurai and ashigaru but with the unarmoured samurai I am not that confident, I don't want to make them to bright, if you know what I mean

I do know what you mean but you just have to go for it 

Maybe mix a little white or black to your colours to knock them back a bit.
