Pirates of Sartosa
« on: October 28, 2008, 06:44:05 AM »
I had a quick search through the forum and it appears these have slipped through the radar:

Hope the link works.

At $22 AUD a figure I'm probably not going to get one. Anyone purchased these? Do they look good compared to other figures? I would probably get the Captain, he looks quite mean!

yea...  A tad cost prohibitive.  :'(

Why spend that kinda cash when you could go cheaper and get Foundry of Black Scorpions....

I think the Captain is worth it if you want to enter him in Golden Demons. Apart from that there are far better and far cheaper pirates more readily available (even in Sydney).

Really?

I imagine you're talking mostly about Eureka... what else is there locally? Tin Soldier have much?

...you could go cheaper and get Foundry ....

And that's something you don't see every day...  ;)

In this case it's true, though. Like Rob_Jedi says, here are plenty of other good quality pirates about at a very reasonable price.

Some of the OGs are very good and don't forget Musketeer Minis small but excellent range:

Codes HH1-3. Not particularly cheap, but well worth the price!

From Tin Soldier you can get: Warmachine pirates, Reaper pirates, Old Glory Pirates (short buggers), GW Empire militia. They used to have 7th Sea minis on clearance but I bought all of them  ;) They might have Foundry, not sure. I know there's a bunch of local dealers that sell em going by the stands that were at MOAB. Also you can get Eureka ones.

Mind you I ordered heaps of stuff when our dollar was good: Black Scorpion, Black Cat Bases, Artizan, Crusader, Blue Moon.

You might want to see if you can get your hands on this lad from Hasslefree too:

Sculpted by Tom Meier. Lovely bit of work. Hasslefree are usually pretty good when it comes to postage overseas as well if you can't find him in your part of the world.
