New lightbox for taking photos
« on: 09 May 2015, 10:12:08 AM »
I whipped this together from a cardboard box, tape and some tracing paper.

I folded the flaps inside the box, cut out the windows and taped on some tracing paper (from The Warehouse)

The sky is a blue piece of thin card and I might airbrush some clouds onto it.

The base is a piece of plywood with some polystrene foam glued on. I shaped it with a sander and cut a road into the board and added some ground texture and flock. There are some graduations on the polystrene with it sloping down at the front and rising up behind the road. The trees have pins in them so they are removeable.

The lamp are mounted on a dodgy wooden structure I made from some unfinished wood projects along with some offcuts and pieces I rescued from the wood pile!

And here is a 1/285th scale Crusader tractor which I photographed using the new light box. The results are much better than my previous ones and require much less editing and show the details better. I will make another board to slide into the box for larger scale figures as well.

BTW excuse all the crap piled everywhere!  :D

Cheers
Kieran
