That would be an interesting project to do… especially as it was not, as the subtitle says, Islam against Christianity. Lots of Christians on the Ottoman side! People in Vienna rioted against the Catholic church because they blamed its aggressive policy against protestants to have brought the Turkish army. And the Hungarians went from smoke to smother when their master changed from the Turks to the Habsburgs.

For anyone interested in a more complex version of the story I can recommend the book by Ian Almond: Two Faiths, One Banner.

Forget I asked that, Youtube played the whole film post watching the video clip- just what the doctor ordered (OK he didn't really) as i has a severe ear infection and went back to bed!

Yeah, it's unfortunate but it's always the way......

The movie itself is terrible - and you sit through an hour and a half to get to 15 minutes of battle (and evidently all the defenders wore Harquebusier armor, and all the Turkish cavalry were equipped with the same battleaxe).  A great opportunity lost.

I'm just so used to historical films being rubbish now that I've learned to just take them for what they are..... of course that doesn't stop one from complaining in one's head..... n=but I've learned not to do it out loud!!

Poor F Murray Abraham. His tax situation must be terrible to sign on to such a weak project. I got 13 minutes into the teaser and just couldn't take any more.
