I played my first game of "single based" 15mm Chain of Command today with Johan down at the club. Previous games have been with multi-based Flames of War troops.
15mm worked really well, and the board felt spacious and not so cramped as I have felt 28mm can be. Anyway, we still have some rules to learn, but had a great time and a bunch of guys at the club were hanging around and looking quite interested and impressed with the setup. Hopefully this means more Chain of Command players  :D

Check my blog for more pictures form the game.

I also went for 15mm for CofC, it's nice to have the feeling of a bit of space. With 28mm I always felt everyone was right on top of each other.

Your board is absolutely fantastic, I'm well jealous.

Nice figures and layout there.  :)

I can imagine that there is a little lead sergeant somewhere screaming at your guys "Don't bunch up! Spread out!" though, as there would typically be around 4-7m between men (so 1"/25mm+ apart on-table).

With 15mm you are pretty much playing at the correct ground scale for CoC and as sonicReducer says, it's good to have the space. We are used to seeing closely packed troops crammed onto multi-bases for rules that use very compacted ground scales, so it can seem odd to have a platoon spread over some 100-200m of real estate like they were in the real world.

 :)
