My Samurai Skirmish Project begins - First Game Shots

Planning on using LOTR Lists for ease of game, here are the ninja clan and the Yammota Clan and their retinue. Yammota clan mainly ashigaru with some retainer samurai

Minis are mainly Museaum Miniatures ashigaru with some Colin Dixon samurai.

Ninja are Black hat and Perry.


I have a shed load of bandit types, peasants and Ronin to paint yet, have held off doing the more elaborate costumes so far

I have a seated Lord and a palanquin left to finish which will give a couple of good scenarios to
whet the appetite

Cool! I didn't know those minis except the Perry ninjas. I'm holding off on armors and laces too. Hoping to see them finished in 2040.

Never been 100% convinced by the Museum figures but you've done a grand job on them

Very nice Zenit are doing some great Samurai minis inc Fantasy stuff.

Plenty of rules sets out there as well.  I know as I wrote one myself

Have to say Jim's are the best buildings for this era that I've seen.

First game using LOTR conversion rules, A samurai lord awaits an important visitor however a rival clan have sent Ninja to break up the meeting. We played this twice, the rules were nice and easy. Both games were very close only the Lords stats and skill with a katana keeping him alive though with very few retainers left

Though, I admit I thought one of the small groups (nine pictures down in your original post) were looking for a lost contact lens; then I realized they were bowing.

  They came with the seated lord. This is about the only scenario I can think where I could use them
