Excellent painting - very crisp and clean.

Not my work, I cannot find pics of mine. I'll do some during week end ;)

Oh, and if you can track down one of the ones Majestic Bear Games used to sell, they're pretty great. OOP though, afaik.

TRacked this guy down, you can still buy his bear, though he trades under Shadow & Flame now, instead of Majestic Bear

If you can find the Golden Compass boardgame it has a couple of cool armoured bears in it.  I got a couple of sets on clearance at a thrift store.

Basic repaints by me, the one in the foreground of the 2nd pic has had a headswap (and the last one is still on the operating table).

I always thought they'd make cool fantasy genre bears.

Be aware, the bear in the animal companion pack looks like a diddy baby compared to 28mm models. Learnt that the hard way.... :(

You could look at the Cragback and Lugg set from Hordes for a nice armoured bear and dwarf handler (looks like a Cossack so good for the frostgrave setting) BUSTED.

Cheers for all the suggestions.

Of course in the end I ignored them all and went for these from Pathfinder pre-paints as my proxy bears:

Seemed more goblinny to me.

Also a happy ending on the EBay front as the seller swiftly acknowledged they were not 28mm scale bears as listed (claims they were a mis-listing and should have said 20mm, sure whatever) and gave me a full refund with no need to return the tiny blighters.

So now what to do with three free tiny polar bears?  Any games that involve anteaters on their random animal tables?!

That Achson bear is head and shoulders above the rest.  Wow, it must be really hard to sculpt a bear.  Ordered!

Papo and Schleich are too big if you go for adult bears, but what about bear cubs?
They might not be?

Not a traditional bear I know, but my warbands not traditional either.

I have a bunch of these bears if any good to you, I don't need them anymore and i'm in the UK, would be around £3 each, they are pre-painted plastics (and this one has been repainted)

Here is an example of one converted with a GW dwarf on it's back, also has a scale shot of Dire bear mentioned above.
