Philly Associators
« on: 08 August 2017, 09:53:13 AM »
My conversions of some Philly Associator's, galloping across the lush Penn landscape. An unfortunate Continental colleague lies, unnoticed.

Perry or Foundry bodies and horses. KMM Heads and various arms.
Painted by John Bryant. Terrain by me. All scratchbuilt.

All lovely stuff. The tree that's providing shade to the napping infantryman, what species is it representing? Just looks very full bodied (and a little out of place to the rest of the flora)?

Mr. Continental has expired and he looks grand for someone so dead..

Might be the angle of the shot?

Heh. To be constructive in my feedback (and you know I'm a fan of your work), I think it's the thickness of the trunk that's throwing me off. Then again, I'm not familar with all the flora of the east cost, hence my original question.

I envisioned a wounded Continental, who laid down to die under the tree shade.
His body fits in just where I wanted it. I thought the rifle was a nice touch.

You'll have to take my word for it. It's what it really looks like out there.

Lucky,   Duh! I didn't get it about the tree.

That's a big old Cottonwood tree. Not the best I have ever seen, but it's fine.

No Cottonwoods down under?

Nope - thanks a lot for the follow up, I see it now (after looking at other photos of the tree species).
