Achtung! Cthulhu skirmish game
« on: July 02, 2015, 06:19:36 PM »
Rather than resurrect the old thread that is long dead, I thought I'd start a new one with some new news and photos from the Modiphius forums :)

According to some of the Modiphius staff, writing is nearly finished on the rules and should be going out to playtesters in the next month. I've no idea about eventual release date though.

In the run up to it's release they have some more figures ready for launch over the coming months. July sees the release of 4 new blisters. These are sneak peek photos, not the final press photos, but have been cleared for preview

3 Black Sun Troopers

1 Deep One Reefbreaker

3 Badger's Commandoes
3 Pathfinder Warriors

These will be followed by a monthly release of box unit sets of 10 figures. The first planned sets are: 10x Servitors of Nyarlathotep, Deep Ones, Badger's Commandoes, Black Sun Troopers, Pathfinder Warriors and more to be announced. I would imagine this means that the boxes will be base squad sizes.

Really like those black sun troopers. I have a few of the original packs from the KS, but haven't gotten around to painting them yet, but could certainly see adding some of the troopers in.

I love the figures but find, sizewise, that they are much smaller/finer than all my other Weird War stuff. It's a real shame 'cos I'd get more otherwise.

The KS models were a bit variable in size. Modiphius have said they would be striving for a better match to other 28mm ranges with the new models, so hopefully they will fit more with existing armies

I agree  :(
I bought the Black Sun Villains and when received them I was unpleasantly surprised that they were too smaller for my other weird miniatures, so I sold them just some few days ago.  :'(

...however, a really fine paint job EndTrasmission  :D

I'd like to see them compared to some other ranges, just to see if they have improved ,sizewise.

The Black Suns look rather tempting.

I think they will fit nicely with AE WWII models. Some pics to compare ranges will be nice.

Great minis, great painting and I have to agree that the size is sometimes a bit "off".
cheers and keep on gaming, Agis - https://www.adpublishing.de

I wish that was my painting! Those are from Modiphius own collection. I've asked for some scale photos, but havn't heard anything yet

I asked  on the FB page but the response implied that they thought their figs were already in scale with other 28mm ranges. Maybe I misunderstood. :?

Hi here's some size comparison pictures:

This one comparing the sizes of our figures against other popular makes. From far left to right Warlord/Bolt Action, Artizan and West Wind followed by our Professor Deadman, Sgt. Carter and the Mi-Go.

Here you can see plastic Warlord German infantry and metal US Airborne by Warlord next to a Servitor Overlord and Black Sun trooper. Hope this helps!

Hmm, missed this previously. The Modiphius troopers don't look so much smaller per se but more realistically proportioned than the examples. Not that it matters hugely to me, if or when this comes out I'm only likely only going to be in it for the monsters 8)
