Come to think of it, would not "Betegoah Svotexah" be an excellent name for a character in the Antares universe? :D

Yes indeed. Probably a Mhagris mercenary or someone like that.

Back on the subject of models - here are some of my Concord. There's no logic behind these colour schemes, I just liked the pattern!

They look great.  :D

Just managed to pick up the Algoryn skirmish set (at a hefty discount  :)) so I'm covered for a new year project.  ;)

Very nice - the colour scheme is similar to that on the Antares rulebook cover, and the red hands feel like a little nod to the RT Crimson Fists too. :)

That wasn't actually deliberate - I decided on a different fist colour for each squad, just to differentiate them (also as a Nick Cave reference).

Ah, well, then I think one leader needs to be holding a wad of cash in his open hand then - to complete the reference! ;)

(PS: great song!)

Would you believe that the South Australian tourism board is using "Red Right Hand" in advertising for the Barossa Valley? I did a bit of a double-take when I heard it the first time.  :?

Back with another Concord bloke. I was really unhappy with the way the other group turned out - the colours looked far too flat with my rubbish photography. So, I adopted a higher contrast style for this guy, and I'm much happier.

As much as I like the better contrast, I think I prefer the first batch a bit because they look more even!  ;D

Vallejo make something they call "Pale Wash" which is like a light grey wash - I wonder if a couple of targeted passes of that over white might not yield the contrast you're after, but for less work?
