mystical powers question
« on: 29 December 2015, 08:33:15 AM »
how many times can powers be used?  just once or everytime it's specified phase comes around?

e.g. water bullets, once the first figure fails it's pluck and the spell dissapates, can the player recast it again?  or is it done for the rest of that game?

I hope it's not just one use or I've been playing it wrong. :(. As they are innate or learned abilities, the character should surely be able to use them as many times as he or she wishes.

Hi Jim,

I hope that the following helps clear this up:
1. During play, a mystic (i.e. a figure that has mystical powers) can choose to use one power in each phase of a turn.
2. You can only use a power in a phase if it is listed as being able to be used in that phase.
3. You can use powers repeatedly throughout the game. So, you can re-cast water bullets.

wow, water bullets is quite powerful then.

I played a solo intro game and the black dragon tong is frightening enough even with it cast just once as they charge into melee.  they lost 3 members en route, but once they connected, they tore through lord curr's men.

then I realized after the game that using the full mystical powers allotment for the dragon lady and wu Jen from the default lists pushes their point total almost to 320 whereas curr's group topped out at around 260.

really enjoyed it though.  very cinematic like watching it all play out.  end result was pure carnage.
