If you guys could only buy two box kits, whether it be official Frostgrave or GBP, FireFOrge & Perry..

which would those two be?

I am overwhelmed to be honest.  I have like 4 or 5 box kits in my cart right now on thedicebaglady.net and it's getting close to $200.

Always remember.

You may not be rich in the ways of money, but you will be rich in the ways of little plastic soldiers.

Thanks lol.

I really want to get this order placed but I don't know what to buy.   I'd like to start with two box kits and easily have enough for two unique looking warbands .. one each for my nephew and myself to start playing Frostgrave.

The Frostgrave Soldiers will offer you the most diverse amount of soldiers.

Have you put a Viking Hirdmen's head on a frostgrave body?  Do you fill the ball cavity first and make it flat?  How well do the heads fit?

Agreed. These are generally the cheap types though so another kit with armoured dudes in will allow you to build some more expensive types you will be wanting after a game or 2 - e.g. marksmen, templars, knights.

When I was assembling models on a modest budget my first purchases were:

Frostgrave soldiers
Fireforge Templars
and a set of 4 metal Irish 'barbarians' and a couple of dog handlers

While not covering all the bases that gave me options to make and use many different kinds of soldiers.

Do you mind sharing which exact barbarians and dog handlers you got?  I may just go this route thanks.

How I got around this was putting a little bit of cut up sprue plastic in the neck first.  Ideally, if you dry fit this first, the seam between the head and the edge of the socket will be more of a seam, and less of a gap.  :D   Of course, if there is a gap, it'll be small and easily covered with a bit of green stuff/miliputt, etc.

Thanks for the replies.  I am going to start with the Frostgrave Soldiers and the GBP Viking Hirdmen.

I"ll practice on the Vikings models first since I get what like 44 of them! wow that's a lot of Vikings!

I am also getting the Thamaturge & Apprentice, because of all of them I think they look the coolest.. just my opinion.

Also gonna get mantic/frostgrave undead encounters box and the cp models old mage.

Also the 12 treasure chests.

Okay here's what I ordered.  Thanks again guys for the help:

(Hopefully I can get a templar out of the combination of the FG soldiers and Vikings -- I might have to get that Templar Infantry kit afterall or just buy a couple templar minis separate -- prebuilt).

Annie does a Saga on a budget set where she combines Gripping Beast unarmoured dark age warriors and armoured Viking Hirdmen for more variety, basically half of each box set for the normal price of one box

Should I do this? I can probably get her to alter the order since it's Saturday.

EDIT: well i sent the email asking her to alter the order and change it from 44 vikings to the 50/50 mix.. hope I am making the right decision .. seems like it right.. I mean I don't need 44 chain mail figurines.. when only the marksmen, templar and knight are the ones with chain mail.

Hooray, I like this thread!  :D

Allll sorted! Definitely the right choice, way more variety then. You can mix up weapons and heads from the packs too.
