Thanks Scott for your report on the game.  8)

It seems Palestine is the flavour of the month :D

Have a good Christmas and will look forward in seeing more gaming reports in 2009.

Thanks Helen, you, of course, are an inspiration to us all. Lots more pictures were taken, but I have yet to receive them. I'll post them as soon as I can. Still figuring out how use vehicles correctly (tactically). They get killed really quickly in my games.
All the photos were taken by the German player and mostly show the Asienkorps forces which we had to assemble from my figures, some seebattalion figures I had and Jim's late-war Western front Infantry. The other figures in the game are mostly correct (with the exception of some WWII Punjabi infantry).
By the way, I have info on Cavalry Machine Gun squadrons as of 1916 but do you know if they continued to use the Vickers or did they move to the hotchkiss? Also when were hotchkiss LMGs integrated into the cavalry troop and in what numbers?
Thanks

Hi Scott,

Hotchkiss were issued at one per troop. Total 12 for the regiment. Crew of four men.

The LH MG Sections did start with the Maxim/Vickers in the1914/15, but in late 1916 these were used to form the LH MG Sqn's and to replace these the Regt MG Sect were reformed using the new Lewis guns.

We used these at Magdhaba and Rafa and they were replaced by the Hotchkiss in early 1917.

All the time the LH Bde MG Sqn's still used the Vickers gun, the idea being the HMG's were with the Bde MG Sqn's while the LMGs were with the Regt MG Sections.

Does this help?

Helen
