Really neat haul, was wondering how this cool bits service works? Also what's charged per gram and if there's a difference between metal and plastic prices?
Well, they have several large bins of plastic bitz and a few metal ditto. They obviously charge more per gram for the plastic, €0.6/gr, if I remember correctly. I can't remember the the metal price, I have scavenged for the few pieces which were of interest to me long ago.
I am not surprised they have plenty, they simply realize that one man's crap is another man's treasure. There are plenty of kids which leave The Hobby after just a brief time and can't be bothered checking the current ebay value of their hoard. So it ends up in garage sales or is passed on for a pittance to a store like this. Very environmental friendly to, you know, recycling like this.
Say what you like about GW, but they are very good at embellishing their plastic kits with all kinds of little useful nicknacks like rats, skulls, crows, hero swords and whatnot.
