AWI Artwork Question
« on: 10 May 2016, 05:58:49 PM »
Hello everyone. My latest "Tactical Two Pager" set of rules, Tree of Liberty, is coming out for the AWI soon. I need to make a cover for it, but I can't find any paintings of the AWI which have a "portrait" orientated section that I can use. There are lots of lovely landscapes, but I haven't found any that are striking enough for a cover.

Can anyone help? An 18th century painting would be best, but I don't mind as long as it's public domain. A free copy of the rules, of course, to the one I like the best.

Cheers/apologies to the mods if this isn't appropriate,
Matt @ Morningstar

You could pull a portrait oriented  section of the firing line possibly

Go to Google images and search for "don troiani awi"

Or as "AWI artwork"

You have several options. ;)

Thanks gents. Is Don Troiani public domain? I thought he was still alive and producing.

Don Troiani's stuff isn't public domain.

The centre of 'The Death of Major Pierson' is another option (from the AWI, but not the North American theatre):

Thanks for the input guys!

Howard Pyle is one of my favourite painters, but I couldn't find the Long Island, or indeed a full gallery of his AWI work. Do you have a link please?
