Dealing with ethereals?

Greetings all.

Could use some advice. How do you go about dealing with ethereals? Last time round I started off with elemental ball as one of my aligned spells, but it took some beefing up before it was much use. Is it worth doing the same again or are there better options? I'm hoping so, because I rather fancy wall instead of elemental ball. Running a summoner again btw.

Last time I encountered any, my very limited arsenal meant the only option was to Push them away, and letting my opponent deal with 'em instead. 
Knowing the upcoming campaign will feature both the Genie and the Haunted Houses, I'll be bringing along the good ol' Enchant Weapon spell. Most magical missiles should work fine though, and although the ethereal units may be able to walk through walls, they won't draw line of sight through them and the Wall spell could be used to simply block them from you, if the circumstances make that feasible.
A few Explosive Cocktails are also a reasonably cheap way to get some magical attacks in, albeit not the most reliable one.

Cheers for the tips! I actually answered my own question after a bit of looking around. The updated potion table in dark alchemy is a big help! Between things like philtre of fairy dust, and potion of firebreath, I'm spoilt for choice really! I'm torn as to whether I take elemental ball anyway (wall just seems so useful), but I'm not taking enchant weapon as it prevents me taking telekinesis
