Russian Crimean War Hussars
« on: 02 August 2016, 03:22:05 AM »
I am about to start work on a unit of Russian hussars for the Crimean War. In all the images if have seen they have the shako covered with an oilskin, but Knotel says they were covered in a "coloured cloth". Can anyone confirm Knotel, and if so what were the colours?

Osprey's Russian Army of the Crimean War has two plates of hussars, bot wearing the black oil skin cover. I checked the Funcken Volume on the 19th Century, no pictures.
There seems to be something wrong with our bloody ships today...turn two points to port.
