Germanic Migrators
« on: 10 February 2017, 02:09:32 AM »
finishing up the first unit of my Germanic Migration era army. The unit is comprised of 2 Footsore Goths, 4 GB Early Saxons, 4 GB 5th/6th Century Saxons. I intend to use the army as Geats, Goths, Burgundians, and Saxons.

Wow! Job very well done.
You go to war with the figures you have, not the figures you wish you had!

Very nice.  Looks like you like a variety of figure makers.  Some Aventine steppe nobles would fit right in also.

I really love the Aventine Steppe models. And it's a good time to buy British products in the US right now, so maybe my willpower will falter. I have a mostly plastic steppe army in construction/painting phase as well. Comprised of 12 GB armored Muslim cav, 12 fireforge mongolians, and 9 metal GB Huns. The Great Migration era will have several factions at my table!

AND I completed the Germanic Cavalry this morning

My God, those look great!!!!!! :-*

Better hurry on picking up those Aventines. Though the GBP has dropped against the dollar because of Brexit, it means that inflation is beginning to hit the UK. For example, both GB and Footsore has recently upped their prices because of the cost of metals is rising (or rather metals may not be rising but a weaker pound means it is more expensive for UK companies to purchase).

Great job, really, on that cavalry, I love the shields! Are those designs painted?

Thanks for the compliments, and thanks for the currency warning! I'll have to give some serious consideration about hobby purchases from the UK. The shield images are Little Big Men studio's shields. I wish I could freehand like your steppe Goat Griffon, but that skill doesn't seem to be in the cards for me. Your shields have been real works of art on those late romans.
